Shargan Eight & Tara National Park Tour
A Journey Through Nature and History
Have you ever dreamed of riding a historic train through untouched landscapes? Now’s your chance!
The Shargan Eight is Europe’s most famous narrow-gauge railway, a masterpiece of engineering that once connected Belgrade, Sarajevo, and Dubrovnik.
Built in the early 20th century, this unique railway climbs steep terrain in a figure-eight shape, using tunnels, bridges, and switchbacks. It was closed in 1974 but restored in 2003 as a one-of-a-kind tourist experience.
Step aboard and soak in the stunning mountain scenery as we travel through history!
Wooden Town – A Fairytale Village
After the train ride, we visit Wooden Town, a charming ethno-village built by film director Emir Kusturica for his movie Life is a Miracle.
Located near Mokra Gora, this village has traditional wooden houses, a church, a cinema, a library, and a hotel. It also hosts the Küstendorf Film & Music Festival, welcoming famous guests like Monica Bellucci and Johnny Depp.
Tara National Park – Serbia’s Wild Beauty
Next, we explore Tara National Park, home to breathtaking viewpoints, dense forests, hidden lakes, and rare wildlife—including brown bears!
This is one of Serbia’s most beautiful natural gems, offering stunning scenery and peaceful landscapes. Along the way, we’ll stop at spectacular viewpoints for unforgettable photos.
Drina River House – A Famous Landmark
On our way back, we stop by the Drina River House, a tiny wooden house on a rock in the middle of the river.
This unique spot became world-famous after being featured in National Geographic’s “Photo of the Year.” – a perfect last stop before we return to Belgrade in the evening.
