This ancient settlement along the Danube was home to one of Europe’s earliest civilizations. People here built houses, created sculptures, and left behind traces of their unique culture. Found by accident, it is now carefully preserved for us to explore.
Iron Gates Boat Ride – Through Europe’s Longest Gorge
After Golubac Fortress, following Danube, w enter the breathtaking Iron Gates Gorge, the deepest gorge in Europe.
The Danube cuts through the Carpathian Mountains, creating stunning scenery. For centuries, this river was a key trade route, and many rulers left behind legends and monuments—best seen from the water. Enjoy a speedboat ride through this spectacular landscape and visit Decebalus rock statue and Tabula Traiana – old Roman heritage.
Kapetan Mišin Breg Viewpoint – A Perfect Ending
On our way back, we’ll stop at Kapetan Mišin Breg, a beautiful hilltop viewpoint above the Danube.
From here, you can see the Iron Gates Gorge in all its glory. It’s the perfect place to relax, take in the view, and enjoy a peaceful moment before heading back.
