Itinerary

On Day 1 in the early morning we set off for Western Serbia.

After scenic and enjoyable 2,5h ride we are arriving to Zlatibor, one of most beautiful mountains in Serbia.

Our first stop will be Stopica Cave, one of Western Serbia’s natural wonders, known for its impressive limestone formations and cascading cave pools. It’s open-flow cave, meaning you can hear the underground river and waterfalls flowing beneath your feet as you explore its stunning chambers.

After cave we are going to discover typical Wester Serbia village – Sirogojno.

Sirogojno is a unique open-air museum village near Zlatibor, showing traditional Serbian mountain life.

It preserves authentic 19th-century wooden houses, household objects, and workshops, offering a glimpse into rural life from centuries past.

Visitors can explore original log cabins, blacksmith shops, and weaving rooms, while also enjoying handmade wool products famous from this region. Sirogojno is not just a museum—it’s a living piece of Serbian heritage, where tradition meets nature in a peaceful mountain setting.

Another gem of nature is our next stop – Gostilje waterfall, one of largest waterfalls in Serbia, perfect to get some breeze in hot summer days.

And then, as a reward we are going for lunch to one family restaurant in their small ethno village to experience amazing food of Western Serbia in unique atmosphere.

After lunch we are going to Zlatibor mountain resort center check-in to hotel.

Day 2

After delicious breakfast, it’s time to explore one of Zlatibor peaks – Tornik.

And what better way to appreciate its splendor than to soar high into the sky on the Gold Gondola panoramic cable car? This is the world’s longest cable car! During the 30 minute ride, you will see the beauty of Zlatibor, such as Ribnica lake, Čigota peak, and, of course, Tornik peak, where we will exit the cable car.

After a brief stop for refreshments and views, we return to Zlatibor and proceed south to Uvac Canyon.

Uvac, with its steep cliffs and meanders, has long been one of Serbia’s most photographed locations.

It is also home to griffon vultures, which are magnificent creatures that you will enjoy watching.

We will onboard our cruise ship at one of Uvac lake dams and then, after 1h of cruising through lake and canyon, we will have a chance to explore Ice Cave, expedition will take through 800m non-comercialised cave, where you will get real feeling of adventure with flashlights in your hands and learn why cave is called ice cave.

Then, after cave, we’ll hike along the canyon’s ridge, taking in views from several vantage points. Here you will make photos that you will remember forever!

We will make a drinks and pancakes break in unique forest caffe.

Following that, we return to Zlatibor.

Overnight in Zlatibor

We’ll start the day 3 with hearty mountain-style breakfast. Perfect way to start a day!

After breakfast it is time to depart for Mokra Gora village, the “World’s Best Tourism Village 2021.”

We’ll ride a 100-year-old train across Shargan Mountain in Mokra Gora. “Shargan Eight” will take us back in the old days with its rattling wheels and leisurely pace.

This railroad used to connect Belgrade with Sarajevo and the Adriatic coast, but just a small stretch of it is nowadays used for tourism.

After the train ride, we go up the Tara Mountain, along less traveled roads through the national park. Tara is one of Serbia’s five national parks, which has contributed to the preservation of its wilderness and natural beauty.

The greatest brown bear population in Serbia dwells here, and if we’re lucky, we might see one. We’ll take in the scenic views from Oslusa, Banjska Stena, Zmajevac, and other locations.

We’ll see Zaovine and Perućac lakes and, if the weather permits, we can swim in one of them. We’ll be hiking through ancient pine trees forests.

After a long day on Tara mountain we are going to hotel.

Depending on your preferences, one of options is to stay in some unique mountain stays on Tara mountain or to go back to same hotel in Zlatibor.
